About Zen Computer Shop
Zen Computers Ltd, trading as Zen Computer Shop, is an independent computer repair and IT services company based in Glastonbury, Somerset.
Since opening in 2016, we've grown from a small local computer shop into a busy technology business providing computer repairs, Apple Mac repairs, IT support, networking, Microsoft 365 services, mobile phone repairs, website design and other IT services to home users, businesses and schools across Somerset.
Despite that growth, we're still very much a local business. Our customers can visit us on Glastonbury High Street, speak directly to an experienced technician and get straightforward, friendly advice from people who genuinely enjoy solving technology problems.
Our Goal
Our goal has always been simple: put the customer first and provide technology services we can be proud of.
We believe good IT support should be friendly, understandable and fairly priced. Whether we're repairing a customer's laptop, helping a business with Microsoft 365 or installing a new network, we aim to provide practical advice and excellent customer service without unnecessary technical jargon.
Technology never stands still, so neither do we. Our team is continually learning, developing new skills and keeping up with changes across Windows, macOS, cloud computing, networking, security and the wider technology industry.
We're also proud to be part of the local community, providing employment, training and opportunities for people in Somerset.
Where Did It All Begin?
Zen Computer Shop was founded by Simon Shepherd and Ray Rimmer in Glastonbury in September 2016.
Our first computer shop opened on a side street in Glastonbury and was officially opened by the then Mayor of Glastonbury, Cllr Jon Cousins. The business quickly developed a loyal local customer base for computer sales, repairs and technical support.
As demand grew, we needed more space. In February 2017, Zen Computer Shop moved to larger premises on Glastonbury High Street, putting our workshop and retail shop right in the centre of town.
Zen was incorporated as Zen Computers Ltd in August 2017 and continued to expand, taking on additional technicians and support staff as our range of IT services grew.
Mac, PC & Laptop Repairs in Glastonbury
Computer repairs have been at the heart of Zen Computer Shop since the beginning.
Our Glastonbury computer repair workshop handles Windows PCs and laptops, Apple MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini computers, as well as selected mobile phones and other devices.
We've always encouraged Apple users to consider independent repair, and Mac repairs now represent a significant proportion of the computers booked into our workshop. Our technicians also diagnose and repair Windows laptops and desktop PCs with the same care and attention.
Our services include hardware diagnosis and repair, SSD and memory upgrades, operating system problems, data transfer, malware removal and general troubleshooting.
If a computer isn't worth repairing, we'll tell you. We'd rather give useful advice and retain a customer than recommend work that doesn't make financial sense.
IT Support for Somerset Businesses & Schools
Over the years, Zen has grown far beyond computer repairs.
We now provide business IT support and education IT services to organisations throughout Somerset, alongside support for thousands of home and individual customers.
Our IT services include Microsoft 365 licensing and migrations, business email, wired and wireless networking, Wi-Fi, cloud services, backups, user support, remote IT support and onsite technical support.
For many of our business customers, we effectively become their external IT department — someone they know they can contact when there's a problem or when they need advice about their technology.
We also work with schools and educational organisations, supporting users, computers, networks, Wi-Fi, cloud services and other IT infrastructure.
Local, Independent & Here to Help
Our shop and workshop is located on Glastonbury High Street in Somerset, where we've been serving the local community since 2016.
Being independent allows us to focus on finding the right solution for the customer rather than simply selling a particular product or service. Sometimes that's a repair, sometimes an upgrade, sometimes a replacement — and sometimes it's simply a bit of good advice.
We combine the capabilities of an IT services company with something increasingly difficult to find: a real local computer shop where you can walk through the door and talk to someone who understands technology.
